Akara-Jetzii

Female Serpentfolk

Description:

Sorcerer 4

Bio:

Akara was raised in the Mediogalti Islands by beings whose motives, power, and presence she couldn’t (and still can’t)quite fathom. Akara-Jetzii was born in 4567 to Markesh and Haro-Jetzii. Her parents stayed with her and her siblings for about ten years before they, for whatever reason, left and didn’t return. Akara and her four siblings were tended for a year by a serpentfolk woman named Iirka-moth, but then she, too, disappeared.

Though her siblings were happiest in the jungle without any constraints, Akara-Jetzii craved company and answers to her questions. She often talked to mysterious “friends” in the jungle, in lieu of spending time with her siblings. As she got older, she ended up spending a great deal of time with Kark, a powerful member of the Kaneano shark-men who lived near Ilizmagorti’s harbour. He introduced her to Sister Hannah, a human who worked at a temple near the waterfront and taught people to think for themselves and respect all sorts of power, even if it seemed different. Between them, Kark and Sister Hannah managed to raise Akara-Jetzii into someone mostly pleasant, agreeable, and thoughtful, if a little over-cautious.

After leaving the island and journeying around the mainland, Akara-Jetzii reconnected with Iirka-moth. Akara-Jetzii was born in 4567 to Markesh and Haro-Jetzii. After leaving the island and journeying around the mainland, Akara-Jetzii reconnected with Iirka-moth. While trying to find information about her parents, she was invited to join in the beginning of the revival of Ydersius. Iirka told her about the movement to revive Ydersius and tried to convince her to work alongside her. It took all of Akara-Jetzii’s considerable diplomatic talents to avoid offending her in her denial, and Iirka-moth would try again every two or three years. Akara-Jetzii insisted that her work as an itinerant merchant was enough.

During her travels as a merchant she met another of the serpentfolk doing the very same thing. Tassrith and Akara-Jetzii were sometimes rivals and sometimes business partners, but they generally enjoyed each other’s company. From Akara-Jetzii’s perspective, Tassrith’s only flaw was her tendency to wish for Ydersius’s return.

Akara kept her views pretty quiet and for years lived a comfortable shapeshifting life as both an eccentric (but successful)old merchant turned academic and his daughter, thinking no more of it, until the clerics of Ydersius began to draft serpentfolk. When Akara heard the rumours, she began to make inquiries of her own, finally traveling north to the likely source of any resistance.
